  1. On your Mac, open Settings → Connections → Control this Mac → Add. Some versions say Set up; Windows uses Control this PC.
  2. Follow the pairing steps and scan the QR code with your phone. Use the same account and workspace on both devices.
  3. Review connected devices in Settings → Connections and allow only devices you approve.

Pairing here is optional practice. Use the numbered steps to view the phone examples without connecting a device.

Optional shortcut | After pairing

Open straight into Remote

In the ChatGPT app on iPhone, open Settings → Remote control and turn on Open Remote automatically, if shown. The app will open to Remote when you launch it.

This optional preference varies by app version. It does not pair a new device or change its permissions.

Features vary by plan, rollout, and workspace settings.

Voice through Remote is documented for iOS.

Check that the apps are up to date, both devices use the same account and workspace, and the host app is open, awake, and online.

If Voice is missing from a text-started chat, return to Remote and start a new Voice conversation.

Connect only devices and sources you are allowed to use. No setting here activates Remote or changes your permissions.
